Hotel Niya Regency - Hotel in Thrissur

A good hotel. Parking space is limited, but valet parking available. They will park in parking lot nearby. Very well maintained Good rooms, hygienic bathrooms. Small conference rooms, can accommodate 200-250 people. Only con is, it has only 2 lifts, so during functions in the hotel,we have to use the lifts it's the only option as conference room is in 3 or 4th floor, so 2 lifts and 100 people, gets so congested.

We have no other plan inside Trichur town so I have no idea about the nearness to the town. But the hotel is very good, clean and neat. Rooms are comfortable and staff members are very cooperative. Complimentary breakfast is ok with very limited varieties. Coffee is not at all good. There is no flavor of coffee. A parking facility is available. The only negative point is I had a network issue. So badly in need of their wifi. Their wifi is very very slow and often breaks itself. I am not able to upload important files, only meagre size, and suffered much. Otherwise I recommend it

Hot water was not there and only warm water was there. Looks good. Maintenance is also good. Food in the restaurant is good.

I was supposed to stay here for a week, but unfortunately, the rooms were not available for continuous nights. However, I had the opportunity to use a room for a day stay. The front office staff on the night shift was very humble and promptly provided us with a room without any waiting. The room was decent, but it had some issues: the wash basin was leaking, the hair dryer didn’t work, and water from the shower area flooded into the dry WC area. It seems we were given a room that was still under maintenance. The food at the restaurant was below average and definitely needs improvement. Overall, the hotel has potential, but it needs to address these issues to improve the guest experience.

We stayed at Niya for about a week and should mention that it was above expectations. The rooms were clean, toiletries were provided and they had a wonderful restaurant serving tasty food and a bar serving good cocktails. Their seafood is a hit so you should not miss it! Their breakfast spread was also sufficient and consisted of local and western varieties. Service was quite good and prompt. Now let me tell you one of the less enjoyable aspects of our stay. The fire alarm went off two times in the middle of one night and there was clearly no communication regarding this from the reception or front desk. We thought it was a real fire event and were ready to exit the building until someone told us that some guests were smoking in the room. We traveled with a baby and a senior citizen and incidents like this can cause a lot of unwanted panic and inconvenience especially mentally. I understand the hotel can't be responsible for everything their guests do but they have a responsibility to communicate it to the other guests staying. The second time the alarm went off, nobody batted an eye lid and even the available staff that day just brushed it off like it was a normal occurrence. This is clearly a hazard and management should take this more seriously. Niya is overall a good place but management needs to seriously look into the above as it's a 4* property.
